Nest 18 was a secret center that seems to have been used exclusively for torture. Agents of the DIFA, the DICAR, civilians from nationalist groups and groups from the extreme right - all those operative agents that made up the Joint Command - worked in this center. The Rettig Commission cites the case of Arsenio Leal Pereira, who was tortured to death there. A doctor from FACH visited Nest 18 on various occasions to attend to a prisoner who suffered injuries after a frustrated suicide attempt.
